- The "best" fixed (pre-computed) palette, from Foley & Van Damme, for an
- 8bit screen, is to allocate 3 bits to red, 3 bits to green, and 2 bits
- to blue. This reflects the fact that the eye is less sensitive to shades
- of blue than others. While dithering images to such a palette will not
- give the best results, they are often acceptable, especially if the screen
- resolution is high.
